We all are aware that Delhi is an absolute haven for food lovers, and with the plethora of good restaurants in the capital and the number of offered choices, it is always a fight to figure out the best for the palate. If you are wondering who serves the best delicacies among all these restaurants, we here at Clicktable have crafted a list curated for your taste buds.
The Hulk at the Olive Bistro, Cyber Hub, Gurgaon
The Olive Bistro is relatively a quieter place than most other places in Cyber Hub. It is not to be missed—both for its food and its quirky menu. In the pizza section, one of its best vegetarian offerings is The Hulk. And much like the Incredible Hulk, it beats everything else on the menu. An all-vegetable thin crust pizza made with roasted sweet peppers, button mushrooms, red onions, jalapenos, artichokes, marinated olives, spinach and fresh mozzarella cheese, it is a must (absolutely must) have for pizza lovers. Many pizza chefs make the mistake of lending dominance to one or the other flavor. However, with The Hulk, this does not happen—each of its ingredients spills a distinct flavor in your mouth, making you want to return for more.
Paella Valencia at Sevilla, The Claridges, Aurangzeb Road
Paella is a rice-based dish with ancient roots from Valencia in Spain. At Paella Valencia, Delhi, people who know their craft like the great chefs at Sevilla serve this dish authentically. Granted that the price of the dish may seem on the higher side, even for a five-star hotel, but it’s worth every penny. Consisting of string chorizo, seafood, and chicken, Paella is made using bomba rice. The dish is flavourful and authentic, and it does not even leave an aftertaste of fish in your mouth. Try it to believe it.
Veg Lasagne, Zerruco, The Ashok
Most places get their lasagne right. It is a dish only an amateur chef can mess up. But, it is also a dish that is tough to get just right. Amazingly, Zerruco at the Ashok manages this feat every single time. Their vegetarian lasagne has layers of pasta with Mediterranean vegetables, béchamel, tomato sauce, and mozzarella—every ingredient in just the right quantity. Eating lasagne in their beautiful lawns with someone special will leave you with an experience you will cherish.
Vegetarian Wok at SET’Z, Vasant Kunj
The Emporio in Vasant Kunj is all about the good (albeit costly) things in life, including food. Though the high-end mall does not have many eateries, the few it has can easily beat even the best in the capital. It is true especially for SET’Z; it is an opulent contemporary restaurant that boasts seven kitchens. With its extensive menu, it can be difficult for a dish to stand apart. But its vegetarian wok manages to do it—with élan. Made from stir-fried shiitake, oyster mushroom, button mushroom, garlic, fresh coriander, and light soya, it feels like an explosion of flavors in your mouth—each complementing the other. If you haven’t tried it yet, you are honestly missing one of the best dishes in town.
Spring Rolls at On the Waterfront, Lodhi Road
In addition to being one of the prettiest restaurants in Delhi, On the Waterfront is also one of the best places to enjoy Chinese, European and Thai food in the city. On its expansive menu, the dish that leaves one wanting for more is, believe it or not, is the spring roll. Giving their twist to this traditional Pan Asian wonder, the chefs at Waterfront add chicken, carrot, Chinese cabbage, shiitake, and garlic to the mix. With just the right amount of oil, their recipe is basically like no other you have ever had before.
Subz Galouti Kabab at Jungle Jamboree, Sector 29, Gurgaon
You have probably heard more about the ambiance of Jungle Jamboree than their food. It is understandable, considering that they do have a unique décor, and are worth visiting just for that. However, because of the whole brouhaha about their ambiance, it is easy to miss that they also serve some excellent food. In our opinion, the dish that stands out on their menu is their mouth-watering Subz Galouti Kabab. The amalgamation of exotic vegetables minced and mixed with Lucknowi spices and griddle, makes their kebabs stand out from others. Try them to believe it.
Lamb Lasagne at Diggin, Anand Lok
Classic lamb layered with creamy sauce topped with fresh mozzarella and gratinated in a wood-fired oven. Need more be said about the lamb lasagne made by the amazing chefs at Diggin—the go-to place for an affordable date in South Delhi? Not really. We will just put it this way: if you have not had this lasagne, you are missing one of the finest gastronomical experience of your life.
